Jean Shirt and Jeans by shortystories featuring a black belt

The look is everywhere, but is it tacky?  Can “tacky” be a trend?  Flare Magazine posted on its Facebook page about this combo and how it is a “Chloe-inspired trend” for the fall. Would you go for this, or would it depend on the way the outfit is styled (take the Polyvore look I created above, for example)?  For me, I wouldn’t go with the look, especially if the shirt is tucked in (I don’t often wear my shirts tucked in anyway, but that’s probably because my high school had uniforms and we were always told by teachers to tuck in our shirts).  As for belting the shirt and wearing it with skinny jeans or jeggings, I personally would prefer the look with black leggings instead.  While I think it’s important to not look too out-of-date, there are things that are trendy to the point that it barely lasts half a season.  What do you think?
