Be Work to Film Festival-Ready Without Major Hassle!

We Torontonians know that fall is right around the corner not only because shops are selling fall and back-to-school things, but also because the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which starts on September 8, is once again the talk of the town.  Whether you’re media, working and chilling at a cafe or an attendee at a film or party, you want to look your best.  Clothier RW & Co., a sponsor of TIFF’s IT Lounge, invited media to take a look at their latest fall pieces that can easily be converted from work-appropriate to film festival showing and party-appropriate, whatever your job may be.

Looks 1 and 2:

  • Left: The black “skirt” above is actually a dress ($68).  Make it work-appropriate by adding a sweater ($50) and perhaps a cardigan ($39.50) and some necklaces ($12-18) while easily converting it to a party-appropriate outfit (see below) once the work-day is done!
  • Right: The peggings ($39.50) with blazer look might not work for all offices, but is absolutely amazing if you work in media and are churning out the latest review or interview at a cafe. Throw on a blazer ($90) to make the look more complete and professional.  To make it more party-appropriate, an belted, extra-long sweater paired with boots would do the trick.

Looks 3 and 4:

  • Left: LBD ($68); Coat ($118); Necklace ($18). To make the outfit more office appropriate, see image below!
  • Right: Dress (with elastic collar – can easily be made into a midi or maxi skirt ($68)); Blouse ($50) Sweater ($50) Necklaces ($18) for the office.  To make it more party-ready, just take off the blouse and sweater and convert the “skirt” back into a dress!  Don’t forget some gorgeous pumps and a clutch!

Special thanks to NKPR and RW&Co. for organizing this event.  As attendees we all were able to pick out an outfit from the store as our “swag.”  I chose the LBD above as well as a set of three earrings and a hat (pictured below).  This is the first hat I’ve bought in AGES as a lot of hats just don’t fit me properly!

Ready to party, no?
