Part of the slew of established brands opening its doors in Toronto, FLOR, a unique system of custom carpet squares where users can purchase and create for their own space has made its debut in Yorkville with an event at their showroom earlier this week.  Attendees had the chance to speak with representatives to further learn about the system.  With more people either moving into smaller spaces in the city, custom sized squares allow users to decide how much they need without having to spend too much time searching for the “perfect” piece only to realize that the size doesn’t work for their space.

Coverings measure 19.7″ x 19.7″ each and can be mixed and matched to create any sort of pattern one chooses.  In other words, creativity is definitely welcome.  The coverings come in a variety of different materials as well, with both indoor and outdoor-appropriate materials and in over a dozen different colours and patterns.  Pieces are matched together and secured by “FLOR dots,” which come with one’s order, without the need to stick anything to the floor itself.  FLOR also offers services to help you design the perfect pattern and can also cut and install for you.

FLOR Toronto is located on 162 Cumberland Street.  Hours are Monday & Wednesday 10 – 6; Thursdays 10-7; Fridays & Saturdays 10-6 and Sundays 12-5.  Closed Tuesdays.
