The Banana Republic x Issa Collection Launches August 8th!

This limited edition capsule collection is probably Banana Republic‘s most anticipated collection yet.  Available as of Thursday, August 8, both online and in-store, this collection consists of nearly 40 pieces including dresses, sweaters and accessories.  Issa London soared into popularity this side of the Atlantic in 2010 when Kate Middleton (now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) and Prince William announced their engagement – in fact, a replica of the blue wrap dress worn by the duchess at the announcement will be part of the collection.

While it’s not likely this collection is going to get the kind of crazy lines as H&M’s designer collaborations do, I have a feeling that this one is going to do very well.  Each of the dresses look very comfortable, seasonless and versatile.  Wear it with pumps (maybe L.K. Bennett for the “full” Duchess look) and if you want to and bare legs for “pre-fall,” and as the weather gets cooler, throw on a long sweater or vest and wear it with tights and tall boots or booties.  This is definitely a collection you can wear now AND later.

The good news definitely comes in the price points.  While Issa London apparel typically can cost $700 or more, dresses and sweaters for the Banana Republic x Issa collection will be closer to the $200 range.  And for those of us who aren’t tall like the Duchess, petite sizes are also available.
