Frocktail Party 2010: Glamour, Dancing and Cocktails for JDRF

The Frocktail Party was back for a second year, and this fundraising silent auction was an unqualified success.  The 2010 Committee consisting of Jessica Oliver, Ali Reid, Jen Foster, Sabrina Carr, Christina Perreault, Vanessa Oliver, Lorraine Forster, Amy Douglas, Jackie Harkness, Dia Makrimichalos, Ashley Audet, Stephanie English, Rachel Hulme, Cachelle Odette Fry and Jen Riley put together a fun and fresh fundraising experience for a very important cause: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)

Vanessa Oliver was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at six-years old and has lived with it for the past 25 years.  Her experience inspired long-standing friends Ali Reid, Talor Wallace, Catherine Pringle, Sabrina Carr, Christina Perreault, Lorraine Forster and Jen Foster to conceive of a night where competitive shopping was side-by-side with cocktails and dancing.

Hosted at 99 Sudbury, the night was split into two rooms: one for shopping and one for celebrating.  In the Auction Room, over 100 donated dresses from different designers (including Greta Constantine, David Dixon and Jeremy Laing) and stores (The Room, BCBG Maxazria, Mendocino et. al) attracted the attention and pursestrings of some of the city’s most prominent fashionistas.  In the party room, OPI and Schwarzkopf Professional had set up beauty bars for nail and hair care, and the middle of it all was a dance floor just made for a night of dancing.

Guests can out adored in their most glamorous and trendy frocks, all set to mingle and enjoy the drinks, appetizers, manicures and great party atmosphere.  Kudos to the combining of fashion and compassion.
