Marni for H&M: Spring-Summer 2012 Designer Collaboration!

Just weeks after the frenzy known as Versace for H&M, the Swedish-based clothing company has announced its next designer collaboration.  In addition to an online-only (i.e. we North Americans don’t get to partake) encore for Versace, Italian brand Marni will have a collection of clothing and accessories for men and women starting March 8, 2012.  This collection will be available in select stores and online in countries with e-commerce.

This collection will feature Marni’s signature bold colours and prints, along with warm-weather styles such as pleated skirts and dresses, cropped pants and jaquared knits.  The Marni prints look more conservative than the  a good thing for many in North America, as the Versace prints did not do as well as the leathers and other more solid pieces – generally, Fall/Winter designer collaborations are sold out within hours, but one day later, there were tweets coming from New York saying that there were still pieces remaining.  A more understated sophistication is a better sell this part of the Atlantic.
