Wedding Series 2014, Part I: Wedding Prep

DelectablyChic! is excited to present its Fifth (including one series under Prospere Magazine) Annual Summer Bridal feature, our four part series on Wedding Prep, Gifts, The Wedding Day, as well as Best Honeymoon Hotels & Tips. We begin with Wedding Prep.

For Your Face:

Vasanti Brighten Up

A good skin cleaning routine is very important.  We recommend Canadian Brand Vasanti’s Brighten Up (above), an enzymatic face rejuvenator with microderm crystals. Use 3-5 times a week to enhance your bridal glow.  If you prefer a face pad, Philosophy’s The Micro Exfoliating Triple-Acid Brightening Peel is 12 pre-saturated chemical peel pads that will remove the dead skin cells on your skin and give a bright, fresh glow.  What we really liked about this product is that rather than taking time out for spas in the crazy busy days before your wedding, you have the option to do these peels at home, at your convenience.

Philosophy’s Miracle Worker is 60 anti-aging face pads and solution which are ideal for older brides or even the mother of the bride.

For dehydrated skin, we love The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet, which is light and smells great, or for a more powerful product, we cannot say enough about Elizabeth Arden’s Visible Difference BB Cream for day, especially when paired with Elizabeth Arden’s Eight-Hour Cream Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer overnight.

For Your Figure:

Want to lose those few extra inches in time for your big day?  The Extension Method‘s “DÉVELOPPÉ BALLET SCULPT” ballet-fitness, favoured by celebrities like Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman and Madonna, is an all-body ballet-based toning workout with weights.  The brainchild of instructor and choreographer of Reign Jennifer Nichols, these classes elongate muscles, attending regular classes before your wedding can actually help you drop dress sizes without changing your diet.

For Your Skin:

At least three weeks before the wedding, we recommend using a hydrating body scrub like The Body Shop’s Shea Sugar Body Scrub (above), followed by a strong hydrating cream like L’Occitane En Provence’s Fragrance Beautifying Cream that will not only make your skin silky smooth, but will make it smell incredible.

For Your Love Life:

A great way to prep for your new life is to read an inspiring book like Mating for Life by Marissa Stapley, which is the story of a woman in her sixties who falls in love, reminding ourselves that love and marriage can happen at any age and that true love can last a lifetime.

For the Hands and Feet:

Trim Manicure Nail Care and Pedicure Kits are professional quality and ideal either for at home nail care, or in between salon visits

For Your Hair:

Ideally one month before the wedding, but even if just one week before your big day, start a hair vitalizing routine.

Senscience Boost Thickening Shampoo

Senscience Boost Thickening Shampoo with either Senscience Brilliance Defence Protective Shine Spray or Actif Mist Nourishing Spray, depending if your hair needs shine or nourishment, gives plenty of nutrients to stressed, dull hair.  For instant magic, we recommend Moroccanoil’s Intense Hydrating Mask and if you want more height and volume to your locks, Moroccanoil’s Root Boost, which is added to tower-dried hair.
