Some Artisan Highlights at the Spring One of a Kind Show

The spring edition of the One of a Kind Show is a bit smaller than its holiday edition, but nonetheless still filled with artisans presenting everything from delicious food to crafts, fashion and more.  So who’s there?  Here are just some:

Mélissa Nepton (Booth P49):

Melissa Nepton Blouse

Fresh after showing at World MasterCard Fashion Week, Mélissa Nepton at this season’s One of a Kind Show with her spring 2015 collection.  Mostly black and white, the pieces are soft and comfortable, yet many are dressy enough for the office.  A favourite is the flamingo blouse seen above.

Beverley’s Bakers – Butter Tarts (Booth B20):

Butter Tarts

They’re here every spring season with their delicious butter tarts.  Five varieties are available, including traditional, maple walnut as well as double chocolate.  The good news is that they keep well in the freezer, so if you want, you can stock up and they’ll last well into summer!

Opelle Creative (Booth I26):

This Canadian bag designer has been making the news lately.  Most of the bags are extremely lightweight, which is perfect for those of us who pretty much carry our entire lives in our purses.  No need to feel like you’re lugging rocks.  The spring collection is full of cool and light tones as well.

Hot Mamas Food Inc – aka Spicy Dessert Drizzlers (Booth C19):

Dessert Drizzlers

Here’s something a little different.  If you’re looking for something sweet, but with a bit of a kick, this is definitely a brand to try – and they’re not just for desserts, either. Both mocha and mango (this one is great on fish or chicken) are DELIGHTFUL.

Crosswind Farms:

Crosswind Farms

They have two booths!  This small, family-run goat milk farm is at the One of a Kind Show with both its cheese and skincare products.  If you’re a goat cheese lover, definitely try the feta.  It’s extremely fresh and the texture is a bit different from other fetas I’ve tried.  If you find feta strong, the goat cheddar is an option as well.

Also back are Les Caprices d’Angeline (under the brand Miel Morand, as they are mostly showing their honey-based products), Esther Gould’s Finest (with their delicious mandelbroit cookies) and maple brand, Voisin’s Maple Products.

The One of a Kind Show is at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto and runs until Sunday.  Tickets are available online and at the door.
